About us
Mr. Johannes Ten Elsen founded the Ten Elsen Company in 1961 that is still managed by the Ten Elsen family. Ten Elsen is the manufacturer of the well-known Specht batteries. The company produces and sells a complete range of products for poultry management. The Specht batteries are all produced in Sonsbeck, Germany.
The success of the company is based on a philosophy that combines traditional outstanding workmanship and quality with advanced technology. A lot of batteries, which have been installed 25 years ago, are still working without any problems. This underlines the well-known Specht quality.
Ten Elsen produces different types of cages and also offers a full system for floor keeping of breeders as well as layers and broilers. Laying nests with modern drive-out systems, slats, drinking systems, feed supply, all electric panels etc. are delivered and assembled by the Sonsbeck based German company.
Ten Elsen delivery also turnkey projects with ventilation and cooling systems, as well as manure drying systems.
Products and services
Ten Elsen produces different types of cages such as:
- The belt rearing battery for rearing of chicks from day-old to maturity.
- The belt laying battery for commercial layers and, combined with a cockerel cage, adapted for breeders with artificial insemination.
- The parent stock battery which can be used for layer breeders as well as broiler breeders with natural insemination.
- The broiler battery.
- The group cage for layer hens and other alternative systems, according to the new European legal stipulations on layer hen keeping.
Pullet rearing battery
In our Original-Specht-Pullet rearing battery all tiers are equipped for day-old chicks. The drinking system in all tiers is adjustable in height.
Lowest work requirement, excellent overview, long life span and an optimal feed conversion are some of the advantages of this cage type.
Belt laying battery
The traditional Original Specht Belt laying battery is constructed as a modular system and can be delivered in different heights and depths.
On demand, this cage system will be delivered with a manure drying system, automatic egg collection system, automatic feeding system with feed hoppers and a manure removal system.
